About Us

Nigel Weller & Co Solicitors was established in 1992 initially concentrating on the litigation relating to criminal defence work.
Since then we have specialised in defending prosecutions brought by Defra, Trading Standards and the RSPCA concerning Animal Welfare prosecutions.
Our clients range from private individuals, farmers, Pet Shop Owners and we also advise certain national organisation’s who represent owners of animals.
We have a Legal Aid contract with the Legal Services Commission to provide Legal services in appropriate cases subject to the current means testing regime, so whether you are working or on benefit we always make an application for Legal Aid on your behalf because even if you fail the means test you may still be entitled to Legal Aid under the exceptional hardship provisions.

We are Animal Welfare specialists and specialise in defending all types of prosecutions concerning the welfare of both commercially produced animals and companion animals.
